Recipe: Strawberry Basil Water

IMG_0481

I don’t know about you guys, but I get kind of tired of drinking plain water all day. I like to drink sparkling water, but after a while that gets old too. So, I decided I wanted to see what I could add to water to make it more enjoyable. The basil in this is the first flavor you taste, then you get a really nice strawberry after taste. It’s pretty mellow, but it gives water just enough flavor to be really enjoyable!

Strawberry Basil Water

  • 6-8 cups water
  • 10 basil leaves
  • 3/4 cup strawberries, sliced

Put all ingredients in a pitcher and soak overnight. If you can’t soak it overnight, allow about 6 hours for the flavors to really meld. This stays fresh for about 2 days in the fridge, but remove the strawberry and basil before storage. After about 6 hours, the the basil can become too overwhelming, and the strawberries will begin to disintegrate. I seriously can’t get enough of this stuff.

Serving Size: 1 cup. Serves: 6-8.
